About One Dental Practice
One Dental recently celebrated its 24th anniversary and has just completed a major refurbishment increasing both the size and facilities of the practice plus the acquisition of some of the most up to date equipment currently available.
The practice can proudly boast one of the most experienced dental teams in Scotland and its long-standing relationship with its clients now spreads across three generations providing dental care to the grand children of its very first patients.
Situated at 1 Montague Row, which is the reason for the practice’s name, was established by Millar Hunter and Graham Rutherford who were both dental graduates at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School. They set up One Dental after working in Inverness and the practice now has the added expertise of associate dentist Gerald Edgar, their hygienist Elma Beaton and a fully qualified and registered ancillary staff, three of whom have been with the practice from its beginning.
The team at One Dental regularly attend courses around the world to keep abreast of the latest developments in the industry and are able to offer the most up to date treatments and techniques available. Standards in sterilisation and the prevention of cross contamination are a high priority and One Dental have one of the largest and best equipped LDU (local decontamination units) in the area for all of their instruments. Other technology at the practice includes digital X-ray equipment, intra-oral cameras to provide a complete picture of a patient’s mouth and a fully integrated IT system making the practice almost paperless.
As well as traditional dentistry, the practice also offers cosmetic dentistry including teeth whitening crowns, bridges, veneers and full mouth reconstruction when the patient has multiple dental problems.
The One Dental Team feel very strongly about maintaining high standards of care and see prevention as a key aspect of patient care. Graham and Millar are currently involved in developing a quality assurance initiative in the area. To help with the cost of dental care One Dental provide treatment through the Highland Dental Plan which allows patients to manage their dental care costs with monthly instalments.
